Apple’s annual event is streamed live to millions of people around the world who tune in to see the latest gadgets and iPhone models. This year, the event was held September 7th at 1pm Eastern Time. Pornhub’s statisticians worked with the team at Mashable to capture all the excitement through data.
To see how Pornhub’s traffic fluctuated during the event, our statisticians compared the number of pageviews per minute, to the number of pageviews on a typical Wednesday (averaged over the previous 4 weeks).
Our premise was that during the event, as each major product was revealed, there would be a drop in pageviews on Pornhub. And during the less interesting parts, we would see people start to browse Pornhub again.
To make things more interesting, our statisticians separated the pageview changes by Apple devices (iPhones, iPads, MacOS) and non-Apple devices (Android, Windows). The theory being that Apple device users would have more interest in the event than those using, for example, Android based smartphones.
