The 2014 Stanley Cup finals have drawn to a close, so the Pornhub Statisticians stopped to take a look at how hockey viewership affected traffic to everyone’s favorite porn site. We’ve seen in the past that televised sports events like the 2014 Superbowl, the 2014 NBA Finals and the 2013 Stanley Cup can have a major effect on Pornhub traffic when fans choose tuning-in over turning-on (at least for a few hours).

Pornhub Basketball Review
There are very few things that cause Pornhub users to drop their porn viewing as quickly as they drop their pants. The folks at PolicyMic asked the Pornhub Statisticians to take a look at how the televised UEFA Champions League Final affected traffic to Pornhub. The final match was between two teams based in Madrid, Spain: Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid so we expected to see some major traffic changes in this region.

Pornhub Traffic During the Olympic Opening Ceremony
The long awaited Sochi Olympics are officially underway! In this edition we will be hard at work to show which countries are more excited by the Olympic Opening ceremonies than they are by the world’s number 1 adult website (at least temporarily). As we saw in 2010 and 2012, the host countries log off of Pornhub to watch the start of their Olympic journey. This time around, Russia recorded a 15% drop while all eyes were on Sochi, compared to a 17% drop in Canada for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics and a massive 27% drop in the UK for the 2012 London Summer Olympics.
