At Pornhub, we know your content is your livelihood, and protecting it is key for stable earnings. In this second part of our Account and Safety Series, we want to inform you about our free content protection services and share practical tips to help you keep your content secure. These tips are based on the experiences of successful Models and our ongoing commitment to your safety and success.
Content Protection Services
Did you know that Pornhub offers FREE content protection services? You don’t have to fight piracy alone or pay hundreds of dollars a year for someone else to send DMCA takedown notices on your behalf.
By opting into Content Protection, you’ll receive our free DMCA takedown service; a benefit that other providers typically charge $40 to $100 monthly. This service scans other tube sites for pirated content and issues DMCA takedowns on your behalf.
This value-added service is part of our commitment to keeping your content safe and ensuring you’re benefiting from your work.
Here’s how it works:
- Our team actively scans tube sites for unauthorized uploads of your content.
- If we find your videos posted without permission, we send DMCA takedown notices on your behalf to have them removed.
- If you spot your content elsewhere, you can also reach out directly for quick assistance via our Support Form.

Safe and Secure Record Keeping
Organizing paperwork can be daunting, especially when working with many performers. Establishing a routine to securely storing documents will save you time in the event of content audits, ensuring you can quickly find any records when needed.
Here are some best practices for keeping your records secure and organized:
- Communicate ahead of time. Let your scene partner know there will be paperwork to review.
- Store your documents securely on your computer and back them up on an external hard drive. Use password-protected folders and research cybersecurity tools to ensure your files are safe.

We recently did a Model Spotlight on Teddy Tarantino, a popular male performer who has worked with many female performers and established standardized processes for his record keeping requirements.
Teddy is known for having a high acceptance rate when adding new Co-Performers to his Model account. It is rare for his paperwork to get rejected due to his perfected methods and taking very clear photos of IDs, following all our recommended tips. In the interview, he shares some of his tips for maintaining those records and documentation. Here are a few of his recommendations:
- Never shoot without complete documentation. This is a best practice for compliance across all platforms.
- Triple check signatures and details. Make sure signatures on the ID match the signature on all forms.
- Keep your records organized. Have systems in place for organizing and storing documentation, ensuring everything is ready for audits or platform requirements.
Check out his full spotlight and extended Q&A here.

We also sat down for a Model Spotlight with Colt Spence, a creator who stands out for having over 60 approved Co-Performers on his account, which is a remarkable number. Unlike most Models who use the Collaborators tagging feature, Colt uses the standard method of uploading photos of IDs and signed Model Release Forms. In our conversation, he discusses his meticulous approach to documentation. Here are a few of his tips:
- Back up your files. Store digital copies of all documentation in a secure cloud service or external drive for added peace of mind.
- Stay up to date. Regularly check for any changes in documentation requirements to stay compliant.
- Double-check expiry dates. Make sure all IDs are current and not expired before the content is recorded.

How to Flag a Video for Removal
We’ve made it simple for all Pornhub users to report content that may violate our Terms of Service.
If you find a video, photo, or GIF that you believe contains harmful content, you can report it directly on the site:
- Click the “Report” button located below the piece of content on the right-hand side.

- A pop-up window will appear where you can select the reason for your report.

Please note: You may not like everything you see on Pornhub. For example, you may see something rude, vulgar, or offensive. That doesn't mean the content is illegal or violates our Terms of Service. However, if you see something on our platform that you believe goes against our policies, the “reporting” feature can be used to alert us about this content so that we can review it.
Logged in users and verified uploaders can also report inappropriate comments, other users, accounts or advertisements in a similar way. All reports are confidential, and our team reviews each case to determine appropriate next steps.
When a flag is submitted on your content, it is reviewed by our team of human moderators. Uploaders may be asked for additional information, which may include verification images, updated Release Forms, or other information to substantiate the report. If the content is deemed to violate our Terms of Service, it will be removed.
Key Takeaways:
- Establish organized and secure record-keeping habits to stay compliant and ready for audits.
- Always verify documentation, signatures, and expiration dates on IDs before shooting content.
- If the signature on the Model Release Form is completely different from the one on the ID, the document may be rejected. Consider asking your Co-Performer to sign a new form before shooting content to avoid this issue.
- Take advantage of Pornhub’s free content protection services, including DMCA takedowns, to safeguard your work from piracy.
- Use the site’s reporting tools to flag any content that violates Terms of Service, helping to keep the platform safe.
