And this year, our statisticians are back with more data and commentary to touch on this year’s biggest trends.

The Searches that Defined 2023
Every year, the Insights team and Pornhub’s statisticians sift through data from billions of visits to see what content defined the tastes of the year. Those that follow our Insights know that Pornhub’s top searches are often influenced by pop culture and other worldwide events. Many of these terms define 2023 not just on Pornhub but in mainstream media as well.
1. The Golden Age: Mature Porn
Topping this year’s trends was mature porn. In 2023, the MILF category gained +1 spot to become the 5th most viewed category worldwide and the Mature category gained +1 to become the 7th most viewed worldwide, growing in popularity by +69%. Mature is now the 2nd most popular category among men, and the 5th for women.
For searches, “mature” grew +77%, led by the terms “mature cougar,” “mature anal” and “mature amateur.” There was also an increase in “granny” by +132% with top terms being “granny cougar,” “bbw granny” and “sexy granny.”
“GILF” (Granny I’d Like to Fck) searches grew by +168%, topped by “hot GILF,” “GILF anal” and “GILF creampie.” Also, “DILF” (Dad I’d Like to Fck) grew by +71% in 2023 and “daddy” by +27%. The most popular DILF searches included “Hot DILF,” “DILF Solo” and “Muscle DILF.”
In the United States, “MILF” became the second most popular search in the U.S. ahead of 2022’s top favorite, “Hentai,”
In the United Kingdom, “mature british” was a top trending search, growing by +751%. The category Mature is the 3rd most watched, and they are +55% more likely to watch it compared to other countries.
On PornhubGay, Daddy is the 5th most popular category and Mature moved up the list by +6 spots this year.
2. Super Size
In 2023, size was on people’s minds. The category Big Tits grew by +31% worldwide. Additionally, the Big Ass and Big Dick categories were two of the longest viewed this year, both increasing by +90 seconds in 2023 to over 14 minutes view time each, compared to the average visitor’s time on site of 10 minutes and 9 seconds.
For searches, the terms “big,” “bigger” and “biggest” collectively grew by +177% worldwide. Searches containing “huge” grew by +67%, led by “huge tits,” “huge cock,” and “huge dildo.” On top of all that, the term “massive” grew by an impressive +91%.
“Big boobs” saw an increase of +78%, “busty” nearly doubled by +94%, and “big natural tits” were up +141% in 2023. On the bottom side, “big booty” searches were up +83% and a perennial favorite, “big ass Latina” was +29% more popular in 2023.
The BBW category saw some love this year as well, increasing in popularity by +24%.
Some of the biggest searches were “worlds biggest cock,” which more than doubled at +102%, and “biggest cumshot” came out +49% ahead.
In the United States, searches for “big ass” and “bbc” became the 7th and 8th most popular searches, as well as “big tits” seeing significant gains. In 2023, “big ass anal” was a top trending U.S. search, growing +394%.
Dr. Laurie Betito of the Sexual Wellness Center had this to say, “It is human nature to be curious about the extraordinary. When it comes to sex it is no different. We are all voyeurs to some degree and we want to see the extremes—what we generally don’t have access to in real life.”
3. Sex Machines
This year, technology really infiltrated people’s porn interests. One of 2023’s top trending searches was “android,” growing by +1689%. Hajime Sorayama really was looking into the future with his sexy robots. The term “android” is often combined with video game searches, as well as “android cosplay” and “android roleplay.”
Searches for “robot” grew by +304%, with terms like “sex robot,” “AI robot,” “3D robot,” and “anime robot” being the most popular.
The term “sex machine” grew by +88%, as well as mechanized sex toys like “dildo machine,” “milking machine,” and “penis machine.”
“NPC” (Non-Playable Character) grew by +1541% in 2023. The most popular NPC searches being “NPC sex,” “game NPC,” and “hentai NPC.”
When we asked Dr. Laurie Betito about this one, she said, “Search trends over the years always coincide with what’s trending in technology. Right now, we are seeing a lot about the development of ‘sex robots,’ so who wouldn’t be curious about that?”
4. Uniforms
Searches containing “uniform” grew by +243% worldwide in 2023. The searches, “military uniform,” “cop uniform,” and “man in uniform” saw increases, displacing previous favorites like “maid uniform.”
This year, “soldier” searches grew +332%, with “female soldier” being the 5th most popular search, ahead of “military soldier” and “gay soldier.”
Uniform and soldier searches are often combined with the terms “uniform cosplay,” “soldier roleplay” and “military homemade.”
On PornhubGay, the Military category grew by +88% in 2023.
On uniforms, Dr. Laurie Betito said, “People in uniform symbolize power and many people are attracted to people who exude power and control. Other attractive qualities that uniforms (especially military, cop, firefighter, etc.) represent are discipline, heroism, responsibility, courage, and a commitment to helping people. Add a dose of hotness to the uniform and you have, for some people, the perfect fantasy partner.”
5. Sexual Healing
With the state of the world, people are seeking some sexual release. Worldwide, “therapy” searches grew throughout the year, up +344% since 2022, and was a top trending search in some western countries like Canada (+566%) and Australia (+541%).
Many of the terms were related to physical acts such as “massage therapy” which was up +76%, “therapy sex” up +121%, “foot therapy” up +219%, and “anal therapy” up +298%.
Additionally, professions in the healing space like “massage therapist” was up +62%, “sex therapist” was up +55%, and “personal trainer” was up +85% as well.
And finally, when we asked Dr. Laurie Betito to comment on Sexual Healing, she said, “I find it interesting that ‘therapy’ is a porn search word. More and more people, thankfully, are seeking help for mental health and sexual issues, which is great. However, at the same time, fantasies involving a patient/therapist relationship turned sexual is quite common, probably because it is taboo and involves a power differential. In real life, clients can experience feelings for a therapist (transference) because of the nature of the relationship (the client shares very intimate details of their life and feels safe), and this can turn into fantasies of a sexual nature. The forbidden nature of the relationship also may fuel this fantasy.”
2023’s Most Searched for Terms
Topping this year’s most searched for term was “hentai,” a term that has seen increased popularity over the years and has held the top spot for most searched term three years in a row. In the United States alone, “hentai” was the third most searched term of the year. In 2014, it was the 10th most searched term of the year. This steady growth can be attributed to a variety of different factors.
Our statisticians theorize factors such as the popularity of video games like Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which was released earlier this year, in addition to Overwatch and Fortnite, as well as the global popularity of anime could have something to do with this growth. Rule 34 is alive and well in this realm of porn!
Interestingly, the search term “hentai” is much more popular than the category Hentai, which came in 9th this year. On Pornhub Gay, “hentai” came in 5th for the most searched term.
Following “hentai” in second was “milf” — a staple in porn, viewers love to see a sexy, empowered older woman who knows what she likes and likes what she’s doing. The term “milf” is consistently rated highly in the most searched terms of the year, often falling within the top 5. In 2022, “milf” was the 3rd most searched term, meaning it has risen a spot in 2023.
There is no shortage of MILFS, and the popularity of Stormy Daniels (nsfw), Cherie Deville (nsfw), and Ava Addams (nsfw), among others, is testament to this.
2023’s third most searched for term was “lesbian” — again, a term that is consistently popular. In 2022, “lesbian” was the 4th most searched term, meaning it too, like “milf” rose one spot.
It would be easy to theorize the popularity of this term could have much to do with the fact many of the viewers on Pornhub are straight men, but that would not do the data justice. Not only was it the 3rd most searched term overall, but it was also the most viewed category of 2023. For men, it was the 7th most viewed category, but for women, it was the 1st. It seems to signify that no matter your gender or sexual orientation, viewers love to see two women getting together.
2023’s Most Popular Performers
This year, like 2022, Abella Danger took the top spot for most popular pornstar. Thanks to some of her work with top studios over the years, her videos accumulated over 1.8 billion views. With a number like that, it is no wonder she is the top pornstar of the year.
Angela White came in 2nd, rising +1 spot from 2022’s 3rd place. Like Abella Danger, her video views accumulated in the billions. She frequently holds a Model Ranking in the top 5 and regularly uploads videos, no doubt contributing to her popularity.
The 3rd most popular Performer of the year was Eva Elfie, who also rose +1 place since last year, knocking Lana Rhoades down –1 to 4th. Like her predecessors, her videos also accumulated over a billion views.
Sky Bri saw a noticeable increase of +13 spots this year, Alexis Fawx saw an increase of +14, and Eliza Ibarra saw a substantial increase of +46 spots!
Amateur Models
The most viewed Amateur Model of 2023 was Candy Love. She took the top spot this year from yinyleon, who was 5th most viewed in 2023. The 2nd most viewed Amateur Model of 2023 was Sweetie Fox, who is up +1 spot from 2022, followed closely by Porn Force.
The State of the Union
Holding the top spot in the most searched for term in the United States yet again this year was “lesbian.” Much like last year, Americans loved to see some woman-on-woman action. In 2019 and 2017, the top US term was “lesbian” as well.
“milf” rose +1 spot, coming in 2nd this year and bumping “hentai” into 3rd place. Much like the world’s most searched terms, “milf” is desired among Americans as well.
The term “gangbang” saw a substantial increase of +12 spots this year compared to last, and the term “japanese” saw a considerable decrease of –11 spots.
When breaking searches down by state, we encountered some interesting results. It should be quickly noted that we no longer serve some of these states. That said, the data is relevant up until the time we blocked their access.
The state of Nevada is most interested in themselves, as “vegas” was searched more in Nevada than the rest of the country, much like Hawaii, where “hawaiian” was of special interest. On the West Coast, the state of Washington was more interested in “sensual sex” while on the East Coast, the state of Virginia was more interested in “smoking.”
In the Midwest, Wyoming loved “goth” and back east in New Jersey, they loved “turkish.” Our statisticians theorize this could be reflective of the fact New Jersey has the highest population of Turkish people in the country. And while Wyoming might have some nice gothic architecture, our statisticians cannot confidentially theorize where the interest in “goth” comes from in the interest of porn!
The District of Columbia had a special interest in “big ass cop” while Oklahoma was more interested in “sex dick.” Over in Utah, the state with the highest Mormon population in the country, “mormon” was of special interest to them. And let’s not forget Alaska, where it can get quite cold and lonely, and where they have a special interest in “sex doll.”
Top 20 Countries by Traffic
When we broke down the top countries by traffic, the United States took the lead again this year by a landslide. In a country with a population as large as theirs, it is easy to see why.
Following the USA, the Philippines rose +3 spots this year to take 2nd place, taking the United Kingdom’s spot and knocking them down –3 to 5th place, with the help of Mexico climbing +2 spots as well.
France stayed in the same spot they were last year, in 3rd place, following very closely behind the Philippines. Canada, Brazil, Spain and Poland all kept their respective places on the board.
Combined, these top 20 countries make up 78.5% of all daily traffic to Pornhub.
A Time for Reflection
The world is lasting a few seconds longer! This year, the average time spent on Pornhub increased by 15 whole seconds, making the average visit duration 10 minutes and 9 seconds. We can thank the 45+ year olds for that, as their average time was up between 25 seconds and 77 seconds. While the 18 to 24 age bracket was down –74 seconds, the 25 to 34 age bracket was down –34 seconds, and the 35 to 44 age bracket was down –6 seconds.
Broken down by country, the Philippines increased +16 seconds per visit, taking the lead from Egypt last year, who decreased –24 seconds per visit, putting them in 3rd. Following the Philippines is Japan, who was up +15 seconds this year, holding the same spot as last year. The Netherlands was up +24 seconds, making their average visit 10 minutes and 38 seconds, and the United Kingdom was up +26 seconds, making their average visit 10 minutes and 31 seconds.
Other increases in visit duration were Sweden, up +37 seconds for an average of 10 minutes and 7 seconds, Canada up +33 seconds for an average of 10 minutes and 1 second, and Mexico, up +69 seconds for a total average visit duration of 9 minutes and 24 seconds.
In the United States, Maryland spent the most time on Pornhub per visit, with a total time of 11 minutes and 31 seconds on average, up +37 seconds from 2022. Following Maryland was Rhode Island with 11 minutes and 11 seconds, up +40 seconds from 2022. Following Rhode Island for longest time spent per visit was New Jersey.
For shortest visit, Louisiana spent the least amount of time on Pornhub, averaging at 8 minutes and 21 seconds, with a decrease of –71 seconds since 2022. The next state with the shortest visit time was Oregon, at 8 minutes and 58 seconds. Their neighbors, Washington, followed closely behind, with an average of 9 minutes and 5 seconds.
When our statisticians pulled the data for people’s favorite time to watch porn, the weekly average stayed pretty much the same around noon and 1 p.m. Around 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. were the lowest average times whereas 11 p.m. and midnight were well above average, telling our statisticians a visit to Pornhub is an excellent wrap to your day.
Weekly averages reflected these same findings: Wednesday at 5 a.m. was the least favorite time to watch porn, whereas Monday at 11 p.m. was the favorite. This also contributes to Monday being the most popular day to visit Pornhub, and Saturday the least popular. On weekends, when people tend to go out more, sleep in later, and be more social, it is not a surprise Saturday is the least popular in the week.
Categorical Analysis
Categories can be influenced by a variety of different factors such as current events and trending topics throughout the year. For example, the Reality category saw a marked increase in interest last year but did not make it into the most viewed categories of 2023.
The most viewed category of 2023 was Lesbian. In 2022, the most viewed category was also Lesbian. Canada, Mexico, Australia, and parts of South America all showed more interest in the Lesbian category than other areas of the world.
Following Lesbian was Japanese, which saw a +1 increase since 2022, knocking Ebony down –1 to the 3rd most viewed category. The categories Anal, MILF, Transgender and Mature all increased +1, while Threesome saw a decrease of -4.
Big Ass saw an increase of +4, Big Dick saw an increase of +5, and BBW saw an increase of +6. The data seems to indicate bigger is better!
Around the world, you will notice the familiar categories again. Lesbian was popular in Canada, Australia, and Mexico. Ebony was most popular in the United States and parts of Africa. Over in South America, Greenland, Scandanavia and parts of Europe, they loved their Anal.
In Russia, they loved their own local Russian content.
Category Growth
Amongst the top gaining categories were some we have seen already. Korean saw the biggest boost from last year with +82%. Behind that was Japanese, with +74%. Mature saw a +69% increase, Cartoon saw +52% and cosplay saw +46%.
When it comes to categories that were viewed the longest, Small Tits was up +108 seconds, for a total of 15 minutes and 46 seconds. Trailing closely behind Small Tits was Brunette, which saw an increase of +177 seconds, for a total of 15 minutes and 34 seconds. Double penetration was up +143 seconds, for a total of 15 minutes and 3 seconds.
Hardcore, Big Ass, and Big Dick were all viewed longest as well, between 14 minutes and 25 seconds to 14 minutes and 42 seconds, yet again continuing a theme our statisticians have found this year of an interest in size.
The categories that did not get viewed as long this year include Feet, which saw a decrease of –128 seconds, for a total of only 6 minutes and 3 seconds. Solo Male followed behind, with a decrease of –149 seconds, totaling 6 minutes and 6 seconds. After that was Scissoring, down –31 seconds for a total of 6 minutes and 30 seconds. Other categories that were viewed the shortest included Muscular Men, Fingering, and Fisting.
PornhubGay Insights
Over on PornhubGay, “twink” saw an increase of +1 this year, taking the top spot for most searched for term. Following that was “anime” which saw a jump of +4 since last year, taking the 2nd spot. “pinoy” remained in 3rd while “asian” saw an increase of +3 and “hentai” dropped –4 this year, taking 5th.
Bigger jumps in interest this year include “curious straight friends” which was up +27, “femboy” was up +12, and “korean” was up +8.
When it came to the most viewed categories on PornhubGay, the top 2 spots stayed the same as last year. Straight Guys was the 1st most viewed, and Black was the 2nd. Twink saw an increase of +1, taking 3rd, bumping Group down –1 to 4th. The categories Daddy, Interracial, Big Dick, and Public all remained in the same places as 2022.
The most searched for performers on PornhubGay were Malik Delgaty, followed by Joey Mills. In tight place for 3rd was Cade Maddox, with Jake Andrich Jakipz right behind him, and Zilv Gudel following right behind them.
Men vs Women
Breaking the categories down by what men vs. women are most interested in saw quite a bit of overlap between the genders. Men were most interested in Japanese, much like last year, it remained in the top spot. Mature saw an increase of +1 and Anal saw an increase of +3. MILF remained in 4th, Ebony bumped down –3 and Transgender was up +2 this year.
Women’s favorite category was Lesbian, followed by Japanese and then Threesome. Women’s top 7 favorite categories remained exactly the same as last year. Following Threesome was Ebony, Mature, Anal, and MILF. After that, some changes occurred. Hentai was up +6 spots and Big Tits was up +5 spots. Popular with Women was down –3.
Between men and women, the overlap in their top 5 include Japanese and Ebony.
When it came time for categories viewed more comparatively by women than men, Scissoring was +196% more popular, Transgender was +175% more, and Pussy Licking was +105% higher. Other areas of higher interest for women include Solo Male at +85%, Romantic at +59%, Bisexual Male at +47% and Rough Sex at +39%.
Which pornstars were women searching for? The top two, by a significant amount, were Abella Danger in 1st and Eva Elfie in 2nd. Last year, Abella Danger was at the top of the list as well. Lexi Lore moved from 5th in 2022 to 3rd in 2023.
What about male pornstars? Like last year, the most searched male pornstars by women were all queer performers. Armond Rizzo was +410% more likely to be searched for by women, followed by Devin Trez with +290%, and Dante Cole at +256% as well. Interestingly, all the male pornstars women searched more than men were also ranked in the same order of interest as last year as well.
Proportion of Female Visitors
Female visitors contributed to over half the viewers in one country this year, the Philippines. They had 58% female viewers, +5% since last year, and 42% male. Colombia was split evenly, with 50% being female and 50% being male (a male increase of +1% since 2022). The rest of the countries had a higher percentage of men viewing Pornhub. Argentina also continued to have a high female viewership, with 47% being women, the same as 2022.
The countries with the lowest female viewers included Egypt and Germany with only 26% female, 74% male. Female visitors made up 28% of views from the Netherlands, and 29% in Canada, Sweden, United State, United Kingdom, Italy and Spain.
Overall, there was a proportional growth of +1% female viewers in the year 2023, bringing the total proportion of female visitors worldwide to 36%.
Since Google Analytics began tracking demographics data in 2015, we have seen our proportion of female visitors steadily increase over time. In 2015, female visitors made up 24% of all viewership. Every year since has seen an increase in number, reaching 36% in 2023, an increase of +12% percentage points in 8 years.
Age Demographics
When it came to visitor demographics, the average age of Pornhub visitors was 37 years old, which has remained the same for the past couple years. Our statisticians then broke the generations down for further information.
Most viewers are between the ages of 18 and 34. This makes up over half the entire viewership. The 18-24 age bracket made up 27% of all traffic and the 25-34 age bracket made up 26% of all traffic. After that, the numbers decrease. The 35 to 44 age bracket made up 19% of all traffic and the 45 to 54 age bracket made up 13%. After that, it was in the single digits. The 55 to 64 bracket made up 8% and the 65+ bracket made up only 7%.
Proportionally by the top 20 countries, the 18 to 24 age bracket was highest in the Philippines, Mexico, Germany, Brazil, and Egypt, which had the highest amount at 41% of their entire traffic. They were lowest in Japan, Spain, and Sweden.
The 25 to 34 bracket was highest in the Philippines, Germany, and Egypt.
So what categories are the generations most interested in? When it came to the percent difference in popularity compared to all other ages, Gen Z had a special interest in Cosplay at +146%, Hentai at +94%, Interactive at +90% and Smoking at +88%. Gen Y was more interested in Muscular Men at +69%, Tattooed Women at +43%, Cosplay at +38%, and Role Play at +25%.
Gen X was more interested in Scissoring at +29%, Vintage at +28%, Transgender at +24%, and Fingering at +22%. The Boomers were +68% more interested in Smoking, +58% more interested in Transgender, +56% more interested in Handjob, and +54% more interested in Mature.
Gen Z and Gen Y saw an interest overlap in Cosplay, Interactive, and FFM. The only overlap in Gen Y, Gen X and Boomers was the Transgender category.
Devices & Technology
In the last decade, the movement from desktop to mobile devices has tipped the scales from one to the other. In 2013, 51% of all views came from desktop devices. And now, in 2023, only 7.2% of traffic comes from desktop devices. With the ease and accessibility of our smartphones and being able to take them anywhere you want in your pocket, 91.3% of all traffic comes from mobile devices now.
Since 2022, phone traffic has gone up +8% this year. Desktop traffic is down –46% and tablet traffic decreased –43%, continuing the trajectory of smartphones encompassing most of the traffic.
When our statisticians looked at the device traffic in the top 20 countries, a huge majority of the traffic was coming from phones, as expected. In the United States alone, 93% of traffic came from smartphones. In the Philippines, it was a whopping 96%. In France, 89% and in Mexico, 95%. The top 20 countries with the least amount of traffic coming from phones was still a huge percentage, Canada and Sweden having 85% of traffic coming from smartphones and Australia 86%.
Yet again this year, the Android OS continues to make up the largest part of the mobile operating system usage at 51.7%. Since last year, there was an Android increase of +1.8%.
Apple mobile iOS makes up 48.1%, dropping –1.4% since 2022.
When it comes to desktop, Windows makes up the majority, with 63.2% of traffic coming from windows desktop devices. Since 2022, it saw a decrease of –2.3%. Mac OS makes up 29.2% of traffic, with an increase of +2.9% since last year. Linux makes up 3.6%, with a substantial increase of +31.2% since 2022. And finally, Chrome OS makes up 2.9%, up +13.1% since last year.
Our statisticians broke traffic down by web browser next. On mobile, Chrome saw an increase of 8.4% this year, bringing with it 52.1% of all traffic on mobile devices. Safari saw a decrease of –2.2% this year, bringing 40.6% of traffic. The remaining browsers were 3.1% and less.
On desktop, the most popular web browser was Chrome, bringing with it 52.6% of traffic. Since 2022, Chrome was down –1.3%. Safari saw an increase of +4.1%, bringing with it 23.1% of web browser traffic. Edge was up +9.6%, bringing with it 11.4% of web traffic. Firefox dropped –24.9%, bringing with it 4.8% of web browser traffic. And finally, Opera was up +18.7%, bringing with it 6.2% of web browser traffic.
Most of the traffic by game console came from PlayStation again this year, over 80%. PS4 made up 41.6% of game console traffic, down –16.7% from last year. PS5 made up 40.1% of traffic, up +77.3% from 2022. And Xbox was down –35.4%, bringing with it 16.7% of game console traffic.
Movie Parodies & Characters
The cultural impact of movies and their characters often factor into the porn people are searching. Viewers love to see the element of fantasy, not strictly nudity, and for that reason porn parodies and cosplay are popular on Pornhub.
This year, Star Wars was the most searched for, bumping Harley Quinn down –1 to a close 2nd. Following these two was Game of Thrones, which did not appear in 2022, and then Avatar, which was up +7 in 2023.
Many of the other usual suspects showed up in 2023 as well: Wonder Woman, Black Window, Catwoman, Elastigirl, and Princess Leia. Not as popular but also searched for were some of their male counterparts: Batman, Spiderman, Deadpool, Superman, and Captain Marvel.
Video Games & Characters
Much like 2022 and 2021, Fortnite continued to be the most searched for video game. Overwatch came in second this year, holding the same place since 2021 as well. The third most searched video game was Minecraft, which has also held a spot in top since 2021 – it was fourth most searched in 2022 and second most searched in 2021.
This year, The Legend of Zelda saw a substantial boost of +26 spots, no doubt because of the release of Tears of the Kingdom earlier this year, which you can read our Insights post on. Other games with substantial search increases include Super Mario at +19, God of War at +17, and The Witcher and Red Dead Redemption at +12.
The games that saw the biggest loss of interest included Among Us at –11, Cuphead at –10, and Final Fantasy at –8.
To see what video game characters were the most popular, our statisticians looked for any searches that combined a character name with the title of the video game they appear in. They did this to avoid counting searches for pornstars who may have similar names.
Like the most searched for games being Fortnite and Overwatch, some of the most searched for video game characters also came from these franchises. Chun Li from Fortnite was the most searched for video game character this year by far, moving up +10 spots and taking Dva’s 1st place spot from 2022. Tifa from Final Fantasy came 2nd, up +18 spots since last year, and then Dva, again from Overwatch, came 3rd, down –2 spots since 2022. Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft, a sexy video game veteran, saw a huge increase again in 2023, taking 4th place this year.
Traffic Changes on Holidays
Regional holidays and events always have an effect on traffic in different ways. Our statisticians looked for percentage drops when compared to an average day and found some interesting results.
The largest drop in traffic occurred on Thanksgiving Day in the US, with a huge –33.2% drop. This is no surprise, as most people are out with family or friends eating together. No doubt they are sleepy from all that turkey when they get home! The second biggest drop occurred on Walpurgis Night in Sweden, with a –30.4% drop in traffic. Following that was Ascension Day in France, with a –29.8% drop.
The holidays that saw the least substantial drops in traffic occurred on the Sinulog Festival in the Philippines with only –7.8% less traffic compared to an average day. Next was Moulid Al-Nabi in Egypt with a –8.2% drop, and then Malanka in Ukraine with –8.9%.
In Poland, Easter Sunday saw a –28.4% drop and in the Netherlands, it saw a –12.6% drop. Canada Day in Canada only saw a –9.8% drop but Australia Day in Australia saw a –17.2%.
When it came to the biggest party night of the year, New Years Eve, our statisticians found some substantial drops in traffic around the world. The country who partied the hardest was the Netherlands where traffic dropped -61% between 6 p.m. and midnight! Following their lead was Germany, with a drop of –58% in traffic during that time, followed by Mexico who had a –56% drop.
The country that saw the least change was Japan. There, traffic between 6 p.m. and midnight only dropped –17%.
Events that Changed Traffic in 2023
Every year, live events around the world contribute to substantial changes in traffic. Many people need to adjust their porn viewing schedule to accommodate these live events. The United States’ top 3 most searched terms were the same as the most searched terms worldwide, albeit in a different order. The US was most interested in “lesbian” porn, followed by “milf” which was up +1 place since 2022, and “hentai” which was down –2.
The top pornstars in the US were Abella Danger in 1st, Sky Bri in 2nd, and Johnny Sins in 3rd.
As far as trending searches go, “deepthroat” saw a +593% increase, “passionate sex” saw a +541% increase, and “caught masturbating” saw a +489% increase.
The top categories in the US were Ebony in 1st, Lesbian in 2nd, and Threesome in 3rd. Their top relative categories (viewed more when compared to the rest of the world) were Ebony at +67%, Latina at +58%, and Interracial at +53%.
The Philippines
In the Philippines, the most searched for terms were “pinay” in 1st by a landslide. In second was “pinoy” which was up +1 spot since 2022, and “Japanese” which was down –1 spot since 2022.
Their top pornstars included Lasirena69 in 1st, Codi Vore in 2nd, and Tori Black in 3rd. Interestingly, none of these top 3 pornstars are Pinay or Asian, which their searches showed a particular interest in.
As far as trending searches went, “hot asian big tits” was up +654%, “male whimpering” was up +527%, and “hot asian girl” was up +464%.
The Philippines top categories included Japanese in 1st, Hentai in 2nd (continuing with the world trend), and Asian in 3rd.
Their top relative categories included Hentai, which they were +344% more likely to view when compared to the rest of the world. Their second top relative category was Asian at +170%, followed by Korean in 3rd at +91%.
France
In France, the most searched for term was “francaise” by far. Following that in second was “hentai,” again following the world trend of hentai becoming more popular. Their 3rd most searched term was “milf,” again following world trends.
When it came to top pornstars, like the US, France enjoyed Abella Danger the most. In 2nd place was Clara Morgane, a homegrown talent born in Marseille, France, who is also a renowned singer. And in 3rd was Anna Polina, a Russian transplant now living in France.
Trending searches in France included “sleepover” at +986%, “android” at +821%, and “hot latina” at +815%.

In Mexico, continuing the world trend of hentai content booming in popularity, Mexico’s most searched term was “hentai,” holding the same spot as last year. Following in 2nd was “lesbianas” which also held the same spot since 2022. And in 3rd was “milf,” also holding the same spot as 2022.
The top pornstars in Mexico included Abella Danger in 1st, continuing the trend of her popularity. In 2nd was Sara Blonde and in 3rd was Alexis Texas.

In the United Kingdom, “milf” and “lesbian” took the top spots for most searched terms. “indian” was up +2 since 2022 and “hentai” was down –1.
Elle Brooke was the top pornstar in the UK, a homegrown talent from Surrey. Following Elle was Sky Bri in 2nd and Abella Danger in 3rd.

Japan was most interested in seeing Japanese content. Their top searched term for 2023 was “japanese” by an extremely large margin. The 2nd most searched term was “uncensored” and following that was “amateur,” all of which stayed in their respective places as last year.
Much like their most searched terms, their top pornstars were also all Japanese. In 1st was Yua Mikami, a singer, Youtuber, and retired pornstar. In 2nd was Naomii Hub and in 3rd was Shibuya Kaho.
When it came to trending searches, “uncensored pussy” was +754% higher this year, “toe side” was +667% higher this year, and “big breasts uncensored” was +624% higher in 2023.

In Germany, the most searched term of the year was “milf,” which jumped up +2 spots from 2022. Following “milf” was “german” and then “deutsch” in 3rd, both of which dropped –1 spot. “iranian” saw a big jump of +29 spots and “latina” saw a jump as well of +9 spots.
Top pornstars in the country include Johnny Sins in 1st, Abella Danger in 2nd, and Sky Bri in 3rd.
