When the last Avengers Infinity War movie was released in 2018, it caused a 356% surge in ‘Avengers’ searches on Pornhub. At the time, that seemed like a sizable increase for an already popular search term. That was then, and Avengers Endgame is now. Men’s Health asked the Insights team to see what effect the new movie has had on searches.
With plenty of spoilers making their way around the internet, ‘Avengers’ searches increased an incredible 2912% on April 19th, when compared to their pre-April 16th average. In real numbers, that’s an additional 2 million searches over 7 days.
In addition to the searches containing ‘Avengers’, Pornhub’s statisticians found that major Marvel characters also peaked in popularity. Topping the list is ‘Captain Marvel’ followed by ‘Black Widow’ and ‘Spider Man’.
Update:
Since the theatrical release of Avengers Endgame on April 26th, searches increased even further, peaking April 28th at 5188% above their pre-April 15th average.
