As the government shutdown continues, Mashable reached out to see if the downtime has had any effect on porn viewership. Pornhub’s statisticians noted not only an increase in visits to the site, but also a distinct shift in the hours during which people are watching porn. When compared to traffic levels prior to the shut-down, weekday visits across the United States were up 5.94% from January 7th to 11th.

I this edition of Pornhub Insights, we’re joined by LaSexta to take a closer look at Pornhub’s visitors from Spain. Like many other European countries, Spain’s visitors like searching for videos related to their own country and language. The most popular search is “spanish” followed by “maduras espanolas”, “espagnol”, “porno en espanol” and “sexo en espanol”.
Midterm elections took place in the United States on November 6th, as voters headed to the polls to choose who their representatives in the House and Senate would be for the next four years. Rather than analyzing what the political results might be, Mashable asked Pornhub’s statisticians to see how election day affected Pornhub’s traffic.
Hot on the spurred heels of our Red Dead Redemption Insights, comes a new gun slinging western character to drive gaming fans into Pornhub’s corral. The newest Overwatch hero is “Ashe”, and within days of her release Pornhub has seen a 1233% increase in searches for “Ashe”, and a massive 167% increase in searches containing “Overwatch”.
