The New Zealand Herald asked the Pornhub Insights team to take a closer look at the viewing habits of their nation. While New Zealand ranks 125th worldwide for population, it pulls in an impressive 27th for traffic coming to Pornhub. New Zealand’s rank has increased over the last several years from 32 in 2017 and 34 in 2016. In our previous Year in Review we found that New Zealand ranked 13th for annual pageviews per capita.
The most popular search term in New Zealand is for it’s indigenous “maori” people. That’s followed by world favorite “lesbian” (NSFW) , then “new zealand” and “samoan” (the largest Pacific ethnic group in NZ).
Lesbian, MILF and Threesome are the most viewed video categories in New Zealand.
Visitors from New Zealand are 46% more likely to view Lesbian videos and 43% more into Babysitter and Asian. New Zealand has a large proportion of female visitors, so it’s no surprise that the Popular With Women category is 29% more likely to be viewed in New Zealand when compared to the rest of the world.
New Zealand’s most searched for pornstar is Blac Chyna, followed by Mia Khalifa and Stormy Daniels.
Nearly 40% of visitors from New Zealand are identified as female, well ahead of the world average of 26%. The average age of New Zealand’s visitors is 39 years old, compared to the worldwide average of 35. Nearly one third of New Zealand’s visitors are aged 25 to 34.
Compared to the rest of the world, New Zealand has a tiny proportion of visitors using smartphones. While nearly 80% of the world has moved to mobile devices when visiting Pornhub, only 22% from New Zealand use phones, and 12% tablets. That leaves 66% of visitors enjoying Pornhub on their desktop and laptop computers.
The average visitor from New Zealand spends 10 minutes and 30 seconds each time they visit Pornhub. That’s about 30 seconds longer than the average visit time worldwide. Some parts of New Zealand can hold out even longer, including Gisbore at +46 seconds and Tasman +43 seconds. On the other hand, visitors from Otago come and go 31 seconds faster.
4.25% of pageviews from New Zealand are for gay (male) ( NSFW) content, which is less than the worldwide average of 6%. The larger proportion of female visitors in New Zealand likely played a part in the reduced pageviews, however our statisticians previously discovered that women enjoy watching gay porn. Visitors from Gisborne are 36% more likely to view gay male oriented pages when compared to the national average.
