The Eurovision Song Contest is the longest-running annual international TV song competition. Beginning in 1956, the 2016 edition marked it’s 61st year. The finale took place on Saturday May 14 and lasted for 4 intense hours as the performers sang and viewers from across Europe televoted for their favorites. As often happens with hotly-anticipated televised events like the Game of Thrones premier, the Super Bowl, NBA Finals and NHL Playoffs, we saw major changes to Pornhub’s normal traffic levels before, during and after the Eurovision finale show.

Watching Over Overwatch
On May 5th, Blizzard Entertainment’s hotly anticipated new first-person shooter Overwatch officially entered public beta. We’ve seen other game launches such as Fallout 4 and Minecraft change our visitor’s search habits, so Pornhub’s statisticians teamed up with our friend over at VentureBeat and checked to see if Overwatch had a similar effect. As it turns out, May 5th saw an 817% increase in ‘Overwatch’ searches on our site.
May The 4th Beat With You
The force is strong with Pornhub users. So much so that ‘Star Wars’ searches increased an incredible 510% this May the 4th. And with Star Wars consistently being one of the most searched for porn parodies among our 60 million daily visitors, this number represents an empire worthy increase.
