Pornhub Sponsors Crass Lips Record’s Showcase Featuring Punk Legend Lydia Lunch at Miami’s Art Basel
Come Kickoff Miami’s Renowned Art Exhibit on Thursday, Dec. 1 With Renowned Artists Lydia Lunch, Walter Weasel, and 20 Local Miami Artists
New York, NY (December 1, 2016) – Pornhub, the premiere online destination for adult entertainment, today announced it is sponsoring Miami-based independent record label Crass Lips Records for the company’s “Split Lip Service” event on Thursday, December 1st, 2016. The event will help kickoff the infamous Miami Art Basel, featuring legendary punk/no-wave icon Lydia Lunch, Walter Weasel and 20 other local artists. Doors will open at 6PM and go until 3AM at Churchill’s Pub (5501 Northeast 2nd Avenue).
“Here at Pornhub we value all art forms and appreciate the forward thinking approach Art Basel has instilled in the art community as we know how challenging it can be to turn people on to new art,” said Corey Price, VP Pornhub. “We are continuously looking for new ways where we can showcase our artist’s creativity in an unbiased and uncensored atmosphere, and are absolutely honored to be able to give Lydia the opportunity to perform at this world famous celebration of the arts.”
Crass Lips Records started to help bring attention to bands that were getting lost in the shadows amongst larger mainstream artists. The Miami-based label instituted a model for smaller, no name bands to gain recognition and share their work as well as created a space -- both physical and online -- where fans could discover new artists and unusual styles of music, compared to traditional work.
“As a new Non Profit in the ultra-competitive Miami music scene, we’ve faced many challenges in getting our artists seen,” said Cami Alvarez, CEOO of Crass Lips Records. “Luckily, with Pornhub’s endorsement, we can finally give our talented artists the recognition they deserve as well as shed light on the many hardships young women artists face on a daily basis. We’re so excited to present Lydia Lunch to the city of Miami and to help spread the word of her music.”
