She’s on your social media feed, your mind and your fantasies. She took a big risk and moved from England to LA to become a star, and a star she became. Gal Ritchie met up with us to chat about how it all started, how it feels to be recognized for her outstanding achievements, how a support system of family, friends, and agents can take you a long way, and more.
First things first, tell us about yourself and how you got started in the industry.
I have always been interested in the adult industry and enamored with women who embrace their sexuality and don't succumb to society's stigma and shame against it. I originally wanted to be a stripper, but I can't stay up past 8 p.m. so that wouldn't have worked. I started camming when I was 18 but I felt quite disconnected from the viewers and found it very lonely. Through that I got a lot of interest to do Domme sessions though. From there, I trained at the London School of Domination and became a pro Domme, which I worked as for two years. Unfortunately, I got quite burnt out, so I decided to take a hiatus and began doing tech recruitment. After about 3 months of office work, I got really bored. I started fantasizing about banging all my coworkers, that’s when I knew it was time to go back into sex work.
I had always thought about doing porn as I love the performance aspect of sex work. Since then, I’ve learned that I am an exhibitionist. I also loved the idea of working with other performers and being able to explore my sexuality in a safe place with like-minded people. I am slightly neurotic, so I did a lot of research and came across Mark Spiegler’s name. I originally tried to contact him and spoke to his number 2, George. A couple years later we reconnected, and I convinced Spiegs to let me come to LA and try out the work for a couple weeks. I originally came in June 2023 and loved the industry. I won Speigler over and he agreed to represent me. I went home, quit my job, packed 2 suitcases and moved out to LA full time in August 2023, and I have been here ever since.
We love your name, what was the inspiration behind it?
I absolutely love Guy Ritchie films, and we’re both English. Gal is also a Hebrew name and I'm Jewish. I was originally meant to be called Autumn Sandler, like Adam Sandler, but that's another story.
Equally as good as Gal Ritchie! How would you describe your porn persona? Is she naughty or nice?
I would say I'm somewhat in the middle, edging towards the naughty side. I'm actually a very sweet person which I think comes across in my persona but during sex I like to become a bit of a succubus. Someone once said my eyes turn sightly demonic during sex. I guess I should take that as a compliment!
We agree! What was your experience at the London School of Domination like? Did it teach you anything about sexual barriers and consent?
It taught me that consent and communication are paramount. Not only is it key to having a safe and consensual sexual experience, but it can also create a much better session or encounter. Safety and consent within sessions creates a comfortable and freer space for you to explore as there’s always a level of care even though the nature of what you're doing is sadism.
Some people would come to me to relive their trauma in a safe environment where they could understand and control what happened to them. This is a way for some trauma survivors to process an event and help heal. Doing such intense sessions, it was extremely important to have very strong boundaries, and an in-depth consent talk prior to the sessions. After care was also crucial, taking the time to talk about the session and have breathing room before they left the dungeon and returned to the “real world.”
Well said! Let’s switch gears for a sec. Your video with Jak Knife was the most viewed video on Pornhub in 2024, reaching over 50 million views! Do you see a connection between Pornhub views and increased traffic to your OF?
I still can't believe this! I adore Jak and must thank him so much for this. He's a Pornhub genius! Yes 100%, traffic from Pornhub is correlated to OF. It's definitely a tool to utilize and use to grow your other platforms. I think everyone should use Pornhub in conjunction with OF, they feed each other!
You recently won the 2025 XMA Best New Performer Award and the AVN Award for Best New Starlet, which takes a lot of hard work and dedication! How does it feel to be the industry’s “it” girl right now!
It's incredibly surreal. I definitely suffer from imposter syndrome as it doesn't feel real at all! I used to dream about attending these award shows back home in my little village in England, so even just attending was a wild experience, let alone getting to go on stage and accept such honorable awards! I wish I could be very coy and cool and act nonchalant, but it means a lot to me. I did really want to win, and I worked very hard to be nominated. Moving to LA by myself was the hardest thing I have ever done and it's nice to know the challenge and hard work really did pay off and was seen by my peers and community within the industry!
What do you think has contributed most to your success?
I love sex and I think that shows in my work. That's the main reason I joined the industry. I also have a lot of drive and discipline. I take my career seriously, like you would in any other industry, and I have goals and career milestones I want to reach. I'm lucky enough to have my family’s support, my mum and I are extremely close, and I talk to her every day. Mark Spiegler and George, my agents, have been my family away from home. They have really helped me both at work and outside of work. I'm someone who gets very lonely and I need to be around people so moving somewhere where I didn’t know anyone was difficult for me. They are my best friends and family in LA and give me the best company and advice. I’ve made a few good friends within and adjacent to the industry too. It’s nice to have people who understand the world you’re in or can relate on some level to this world and the problems we have. My best friend Molly back home comes and visits me. She's the best. She always supports me and celebrates me for all the nuisance I am living a million miles away and makes time and effort to travel out here. I love her.
It’s great you have so much support from family and friends! As we both know, there’s a lot of stigma and false narratives around people who work in porn. What is the biggest misconception that you’d like to dismantle?
That sex work should be shameful and is dirty. I have consensual, safe sex within the industry. We do extensive testing every 14 days and have thorough consent talks prior to shooting. I love what I do and wish people would see the humanistic side to shooting porn, like the funny talks I have with the crew in between takes or the relationships I build with my coworkers. It really has a wholesome sweet side to it I wish was captured more.
What advice do you have for new performers just getting started in the industry?
As much as I love being in the industry, once you film your first scene it’s out there forever. You can’t take it back. So, I would say make sure you've weighed all the pros and cons, and you are 100% sure of your decision. Everyone has different reasons for joining, but my advice would be to take your career seriously. You should treat it with as much respect and discipline as you would a business. Be careful with your money, save and don't spend it all. Always speak up for yourself and communicate your dos and don’ts with your scene partners. Never be afraid to say no and don't feel pressure FROM ANYONE to do something you don't feel ready to do or comfortable doing. You're going to go through a whole new second puberty learning about your body and hygiene. You can always ask fellow performers for advice. Nothing is embarrassing.
Great advice! We have to ask... What is the correct ratio of beans to toast? Tell us more about how beans with tomato sauce are truly superior to barbecue beans.
It depends on the thickness of the bread. You want a thick slice of toasted sourdough and a nice layer of butter that's melted into the toast. You need it soaked in before you add the slightly soggy but not mushy beans. I draw the line at mushy. I would say on average half a tin for one slice of bread, but I would have to see a visual to offer complete approval. It's a science. Tomato beans have a sweetness to them and are definitely more savory. Barbecue beans have a fake sweetness to them. I can't imagine them on toast, it would be sacrilege!
We have to ask about your cats, Hummus and Baba Ghanoush! Are they siblings? Are they rescues?
They are sisters! To be honest, I wasn't told much about their story but I fell in love with Baba at the cat cafe in Pasadena, which is run by Kitten Rescue LA, but I wanted a bonded pair as I have space for two cats. The lady working showed me her sister who looks identical to my old cat who passed away in November called Falafel. That's why I named her Hummus as an ode to Falafel, and Baba Ganoush worked perfectly alongside. I was meant to get them during the LA wildfires, but they had to evacuate. They are demons who steal my food constantly as they were feral and use my head as a personal trampoline when I'm sleeping, but I would die for them.
Our North American readers would like to know... what is a bell end? What are some UK slang terms that give you the giggles?
Haha! A bell end is the tip of a cock. I love the word “tosser,” like jerk off, or you can use it as a verb like toss yourself off. “Gordan bennit” is also great, it means like God dammit, always confuses a lot of people when I say it. “Cunt” is my favorite word of all time; I use it endearingly more than I do offensively. Or to describe my pussy.
Tell us about your goals in the next 2-3 years.
Within the industry, I have some bucket list items such as my first anal scene (happening this year, stay tuned), first DP, gang bang, and more. I really want to work my way through all the porn Olympic tiers as I see them.
Then within my personal life I have separate aspirations, including spending more time helping animals or understanding how to run a shelter. I have a goal to retire and run an animal sanctuary so putting some effort towards that is also in the cards. I think living in LA, specifically in the industry, time seems to go very fast. I can't believe I've already been here for nearly two years. So my main goal is to appreciate everything as it comes. I want to remember this time in my life forever.
