Sharinami is an adult content creator and a sexually liberated woman living in the Philippines. She is fearless about her work, her opinions, and her dedication to altering the narrative on Asian women and pleasure. For Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we linked up with her to discuss the cultural significance of this month, finding community, marketing her content, and more.
To begin, tell us about yourself and how you got started in the adult industry.
I’m a Filipina adult content creator, vlogger, and advocate for sex positivity. I’ve been in the industry for almost four years, and I’m also a Brand Ambassador for several adult products—both local and international. I love creating content that blends sensuality, storytelling, and authenticity, especially my hotel room tours and roleplay-based videos. My style is very personal—I want fans to feel like they’re connecting with the real me, not just a character on a screen.
I started during the pandemic in 2020 after years of working as an escort. I discovered content selling platforms and decided to upload a few of my private clips, not expecting much. But when people actually started buying, I realized I could do this independently. I did my own research on fetishes, fantasies, and content creation. What began as curiosity quickly turned into a career—and a form of creative and personal empowerment.
What is it like being a Model in a conservative country? How do you find community?
Being in the adult industry in the Philippines feels like living a double life. It’s a deeply conservative and religious country where people often treat adult content like a scandal. That’s why I was honest from the start—I told my mom and siblings what I do, not to ask permission, but to be transparent. Luckily, they accepted me, and that gave me strength.
Over time, I found community through X’s (Twitter) alter space, where other Filipinos shared content under pseudonyms. It was comforting to see I wasn’t alone. We supported each other through the stigma, shared advice, and celebrated small wins together. Some friends even call me “Boss Babe” now—not because I have it all figured out, but because I chose to be fearless in a place that tells women to stay quiet. That kind of support makes a huge difference.
What are some cultural misconceptions around Filipino culture you would like to debunk?
There’s a strong belief here that being a good Filipina means being quiet, submissive, and staying at home. In some places, women are still expected to serve their husbands and earn less. But that mindset is outdated. Women today are leaders, breadwinners, and creators—including those of us in the adult space. I’m proud to be a Filipina who controls her own income, time, and sexuality.
Another misconception is that being sexually expressive is not Filipino. But before colonization, our ancestors had open, ritual-based views on sex, pleasure, and womanhood. Shame only came later, through colonizers and religion. So, when I create adult content, I see it as reclaiming my roots—not going against them. I can be proudly Pinay (a woman of Filipino origin or descent) and proudly liberated at the same time.
Speaking of roots, every May people all over the world celebrate Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. How does recognizing and celebrating the achievements of these people create a more culturally rich society?
As a Filipina, AAPI Heritage Month means a lot to me. It reminds the world that Asians deserve visibility in every industry—including taboo ones. I grew up thinking I’d never be seen, especially as someone in adult content. But now I get to own my story, my body, and my success, and I know that representation like mine makes space for others to do the same.
Too often, Asian women are reduced to submissive stereotypes. But AAPI Month challenges that. It lets us say, “We’re not just support characters—we’re powerful, complex, and proud.” For me, every time I speak out, post a vlog, or challenge stigma, I’m reclaiming my identity. Being unapologetically sexual and Filipina is my way of contributing to a richer, more inclusive culture.
We love to see you leading this and creating space for others! During our 2024 Year in Review Insights, we discovered you were the 3rd most viewed Pornstar in the Philippines. What marketing techniques have you employed to become so popular?
My biggest strategy has always been to stay real. I don’t have a model-perfect body, but I embraced my curves and softness—and my audience felt that authenticity. I show all sides of myself: the seductive performer, the vlogger, the introvert. I write my own scripts, build fantasies from my imagination, and let my personality shine through my content.
I also work closely with my partner, who helps film and edit most of our scenes. We keep things consistent and thoughtful. I engage with my fans, listen to what turns them on, and focus on building trust. I didn’t chase fame—but I built a brand that feels honest and empowering. That’s why people connect with me.
We also found in our 2024 Year in Review Insights that “pinay” was the 3rd most searched term of 2024, up two spots from 2023. What do you think of this trend?
It honestly made me proud. For a long time, “Pinay” was associated with shame and scandal, but now it’s being searched, desired, and appreciated. That means people are starting to really see us—not just as a fantasy, but as creators with depth. Filipina content is evolving, and I’m glad to be part of that movement.
What makes our content so special is the emotional storytelling and cultural context we bring. Our taboo fantasies hit differently, especially for foreign fans. And just to clarify—I don’t use OnlyFans because it’s banned in the Philippines. I’m on Fansly and Telegram instead, which are safe and accessible for Filipino creators. “Pinay” is more than a tag now—it’s a presence.
With millions of daily visitors, Pornhub works as a discovery platform in the larger ecosystem for new fans to find links to your paid content on other sites. Have you noticed a surge of new subscribers on your fan sites when your videos get featured on Pornhub’s homepage?
Absolutely. Every time my video gets featured on the homepage, I see a spike in views, subscribers, and new messages on Fansly and Telegram. That visibility is powerful. Pornhub allows us to add watermarks and banners, so viewers can find where to follow me instantly.
What I love most is the international reach. Fans from Europe, the US, and even places I’ve never been, have discovered my work and messaged me with custom requests. Many bring their own kinks and fantasies, which helps me stay creative and inspired. It’s more than just exposure—it’s connection, and I love that.
We know you also love to vlog. What topics interest you and what effect has this had on removing stigma around sexual pleasure?
I love vlogging because it’s my way of connecting on a deeper level. I create hotel room tours, but I also talk about sex toys, self-pleasure, communication, and female empowerment. I’ve been a Brand Ambassador for a local adult company since 2020, and I use my platform to normalize conversations around sexual wellness. It’s not just about pleasure—it’s about self-care and education.
Most people in the Philippines still treat sex like it’s dirty or embarrassing. Even buying lube at a drugstore can feel shameful. But through my vlogs, I break those walls down. I’ve had fans thank me for inspiring them to buy their first toy or talk more openly with their partners. That’s the kind of change I want to keep making.
You’re doing amazing work! What about off-camera? What is your most memorable behind-the-scenes story?
There’s this unforgettable moment when we were already deep into a scene—sweaty and moaning—only to realize the camera wasn’t recording. We had to stop and do it all over again from scratch! It was frustrating at first, but we laughed it off and actually made the scene even better. Those technical mishaps happen more often than you’d think.
One time, a bisexual collab partner even joked mid-sex about doing my hair after—we couldn’t stop laughing! Real chemistry and humor make the best scenes.
Who are some other Models from the Philippines we should have on our radar? Who would you love to collab with?
I really admire Tina Slick. She’s an amazing creator and storyteller—very passionate about directing and helping other Filipina creators grow. Her content is intentional, well-produced, and filled with meaning. I’d love to collaborate with her someday, but I want it to be something truly professional and beautifully executed.
I also look up to internationally known performers like Ember Snow, Jada Kai, and Kazumi. They’re inspiring and unapologetically themselves.
Dream collabs for me would include Lexi Lore, Riley Reid, and of course Johnny Sins and Danny D. I admire how Danny brings real storytelling into adult content. That’s what I want more of—sensuality with a cinematic twist.
When you are not shooting content, what does your perfect weekend look like?
When I’m not filming, I’m still focused on managing my brand. My partner and I do all the editing, planning, and marketing together. But outside of work, I love calm moments—watching Netflix, going for massages, or having quiet coffee dates at peaceful cafés. I’m an introvert, so I really enjoy just being in my own space.
On weekends, I treat myself to salon visits, sauna time, or online lingerie shopping—especially thongs! Sundays are special. I cook pasta, my partner makes steak, and we drink wine while planning the week ahead. It’s simple, grounding, and exactly the balance I need to keep my creative energy flowing.
That sounds relaxing! Final question. Tell us about your goals for the next 2 or 3 years.
I want to expand beyond content creation and build something bigger. One of my biggest dreams is launching my own adult product line—condoms, lubes, sex toys—all designed by a Filipina, for Filipinos. I also want to bring back my podcast and talk more openly about sex, relationships, and being a creator in a conservative country. I want to write a book or eBook, maybe even a documentary, to share my story in a deeper way.
I plan to take acting workshops to elevate my roleplay skills and shoot more story-driven content. I also hope to attend international events like AVN or Exxxotica, and collaborate with global creators. Personally, I want to secure my family’s future, keep learning, and help others enter the industry safely. I know my voice can change things—and that’s what drives me. Growth, empowerment, and giving back—that’s my future.
