Your title should accurately reflect what the viewer will see in your videos by using the right keywords. Sensational titles might look exciting, but users tend to give bad ratings when titles and metadata don’t match what is seen in the clip.  Overwhelmingly bad reviews will result in overall less views and less subscribers on your profile and reduce your chances of being featured on the homepage.

Avoid describing scenarios that do not take place in your videos. For example, if your title references step-sibling fantasy, the dialogue in your video should reflect that.

Avoid using terms that are contradictory, for example, “Teen 18+ girl MILF fucks step-son daddy.” While adding as many popular keywords might seem like a genius hack, it will become evident to viewers the title is spam, and likely lead to downvotes, and deter viewers from clicking on your other videos.

You can use up to 100 characters, but we don’t suggest overcrowding your title with tons of keywords as it tends to look like spam which deters users from clicking. Avoid emojis and other stylistic characters as they also look like spam.  “✰❤ ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ʔ ☼” might look cute, but viewers are certainly not searching up special characters, which will make your videos and account harder to find.

Be selective, descriptive and explain how a viewer will see the action as opposed to simply listing what they will see. For example, instead of just throwing together random keywords like, “Big Tit Nurse Pornstar Intense Sex and Blowjob,” try something like, “Busty Nurse has Unexpected Hot Sex and Gives Deepthroat Blowjob in Secret.” It’s descriptive while using appropriate keywords so the viewer knows what they’ll get when they click on your video. You can add more details about the video using tags and categories. You can find more information on tags and categories here.

Another tip is to include your name and any other performers that are also in your video to help it appear in search results. Users often search performers by name, so you could add your name at end of the title like this: “Busty Nurse has Unexpected Hot Sex and Gives Deepthroat Blowjob in Secret - Pornhub Model Name.” If your videos have good ratings, including your name in the title can help users get to know you and spot your name when searching for a video. Mentioning Models or Pornstars in your titles who are not in your video is misleading! If we catch you doing this, we will remove it and you will receive a warning. Several or repeat offences can lead to account termination.

Take advantage of the title translation option as well! When uploading a new video, take a few minutes beforehand to translate your title into other languages; there are currently 12 languages available from the drop-down menu. Adding different languages will make your video more accessible and easier to find for viewers around the world. Use simple language that translates well – sexual puns, jokes, or regional slang may not translate accurately. For example, “phat thot gives me sloppy” won’t necessarily translate to anything meaningful outside of regional English slang.

A great rule of thumb when creating and marketing your own content is to think about what you like to see when you’re browsing for videos. Isn’t it disappointing when you click on a video and it doesn’t deliver what is in the title? Make and market content you would want to engage with and the fans will follow.
