Urinating During Intercourse
Q: Hi Dr. Laurie! I caught you on the Pornhub podcast and you were one of my favorite guests! That being, I do have a question for you. Today while having sex with my partner I accidentally urinated in her mouth. This is something that has never happened before and was not intentional. Furthermore, everything I am reading online says that something like this shouldn’t be possible for men. Is this something I should be worried about? Obviously, I don’t want to urinate inside my partner in the future or on her unintentionally. Finally, I do have very good control over my ejaculations. And just prior to this happening I had stifled an orgasm/ejaculation. I am also wondering if that might have been part of it. Any answer or information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!
A: Something doesn’t seem right. It is not really possible for a guy with no underlying issue to urinate when aroused. That’s because there is a natural mechanism in place for men whereby the sphincter at the base of the bladder closes when there is an erection, therefore preventing urine to pass into the urethra. You need to ask a medical doctor to verify if you have an underlying condition. I have seen this happen in men who suffer from incontinence following removal of the prostate. Have you ever been incontinent? Are you sure it was urine? If it happens again or you have trouble controlling your bladder then seek the help of a urologist. In the meantime, empty your bladder before sex and choose positions that don’t put pressure on your bladder. Also, try practicing some Kegel exercises.
Pimples on the Penis
Q: What can cause tiny buttons, like pimples, on the bottom of the penis head near where it meets the shaft?
A: First, since I am not a medical doctor, I can only give you some general guidelines. You must consult a medical doctor if you notice anything unusual to rule out any disease/infection (especially if you are sexually active). Pimples on the penis can develop just like pimples on other areas of your body. Usually, they are pretty common and generally harmless. DO NOT pop these pimples, as this can cause infection. Just to be sure, see a doctor.
Morning Wood
Q: Why do I get hard in the morning?
A: You actually get hard many times during the night, it’s just that you notice the morning one because you are awake and thus more obvious to you. These nocturnal and morning erections have to do with your nervous system (parasympathetic) that is active while you sleep. You are also more likely to have erotic dreams resulting in erection, and in the morning, your full bladder may be pressing against and stimulating the nerve responsible (sacral).
