Skin tags
Q: I want to know what skin tags are. I have what I suspect are skin tags around my genital area, and also some on my neck and the side of my ribs. Please let me know and thank you.
A: Skin tags are usually little bits of extra skin that are attached to the body by a small stalk. They are usually the same color as the rest of your skin. They are usually found in areas that have friction, like armpits or where clothing may rub against your skin. Skin tags do sometimes occur in the genital area due to friction caused by intercourse, or by wearing underwear that rubs against the skin. However, anything that appears on the genital area should be looked at by a medical doctor to rule out a sexually transmitted infection that would cause genital warts. Sometimes warts are mistaken for tags. The main difference is that the wart, unlike the skin tag, is a raised bump. If you have a wart, this must be treated as soon as possible so as not to spread the infection. Skin tags are not dangerous, yet they can also be removed easily by a doctor. The photo on the right is that of a skin tag and the one on the left is of a wart.
Hourglass penis
Q: Hourglass penis, what do you know about it? How can I fix the issue? With injections?
A: What you seem to be describing is a penis with a sort of “waist”. This may be a sign of Peyronie’s disease if it is causing you to have difficulty with erections. Usually, this is caused by plaque in your tissues which prevents certain areas not to be filled with blood. You must see a urologist to discuss treatment options, which can include injections, surgery to remove the plaque or the insertion of a penile prosthesis. If, however, you are not having any issues with erections, and it just looks like a bit of an hourglass, then this is not something to worry about. Always best to check with your medical doctor to rule out any conditions.
Curved penis
Q: I have a curved penis problem and I think it was caused by masturbating a lot. I am getting married next year and I am afraid I cannot give my 100 percent to my wife. Is a curved penis a serious problem like would it harm her and cannot pleasure her? And also, can I believe the long-lasting pills on the market could enhance my performance? Thanks
A: Without knowing exactly what kind of curve you have, I will answer you generally. First off, most penises have small bends to them. Erections, in this case, are not painful and have no impact on sexuality. However, it is possible for masturbation to cause a more significant bend in your penis if you masturbate aggressively and you cause some internal damage. If you pull too hard on your penis, for example, you may tear some of the inside tissues, and when they heal, it may cause some internal scarring. This scarring may make your penis less flexible. This is a condition called Peyronie’s disease. So just to recap, it is quite common for a penis to bend to curve to either side when erect. It all depends on the significance of the bend. If the bend causes you pain or makes it difficult to have sex, please consult your medical doctor. There are treatment options available.
In the images below, the banana shows a slight bend or curve to the penis which is very normal. In the other image, you will notice a more serious curve which shows tissue damage.
Phimosis
Q: I am suffering from phimosis—my foreskin doesn’t come back. Can my partner still become pregnant?
A: If you can urinate, then you can ejaculate, which means that you can impregnate your partner. Plus it doesn’t require much sperm to be able to impregnate your partner. Each ejaculation contains millions of sperm, and it only takes one to get your partner pregnant. Having said this, you should check with your doctor if you have trouble retracting your foreskin or if your erections are difficult or painful because your foreskin won’t retract.
