Every year Apple’s big event is streamed online, grabbing the attention of millions of people across the world. They tune in to see the latest iPhone models, Apple Watch models, and other developments in technology and gadgets. Naturally, an event of this much interest influences Pornhub traffic, so our friends at Mashable asked Pornhub statisticians to take a deeper look at the changes that occurred during the big event compared to an average day.
Beginning with pre-event traffic levels, we followed viewership on Pornhub through each new gadget unveil from the watches to the iPhones. Splitting the data between viewership on Apple devices vs non-Apple devices, it is unsurprising there was a larger drop in traffic to Pornhub for Apple users, the largest of which occurred at 1:11 EDT during the unveiling of the Apple Watch Series 9 and 10, at –11.6%.
The second largest drop in traffic occurred during the unveiling of the iPhone 15 Pro, at 1:56 EDT with a drop of –11.4% on Apple devices.
Apple users seemed least interested in the environmental goals presented during the stream. During this segment, traffic was at –5%. Additionally, the roadside assistance segment also proved unpopular, as traffic to Pornhub was at –5.6%.
As the event ended, traffic remained below average for Apple users. Evidently, they had a lot to talk about with their friends and colleagues that afternoon. A visit to their favorite black and orange website would have to wait until later!
