May has come, so it’s time to celebrate Masturbation Month with 31 days of self-love. And of course, Pornhub is always here to lend a hand.
Mashable asked the Pornhub Insights team to take a look at what type of masturbation searches are popular, and what visitors are most interested in watching masturbation videos.
Some of the most popular masturbation (NSFW) related searches have to do with public masturbation or being caught by another person. Solo female (NSFW) masturbation ranks higher than solo male masturbation. Other terms have to do with people masturbating together, and ‘jerk off instructions’ which are a form of verbal encouragement.
Women are 24% more likely to search for masturbation videos when compared to men, and the popularity increases by age group. Millennials under the age of 34 are far less likely to search for masturbation, while visitors over 55 are proportionately 50% more likely to search compared to other age groups.
The following chart show the Top 20 masturbation searches by male and female visitors. Many of the top searches are shared by both genders, but we can easily see that most masturbation searches are proportionately much more likely to be searched by women.
‘Solo male masturbation’ is 305% more popular with women, while ‘jerk off instruction’ is 51% more popular with men. Men are more likely than women to search for videos of ‘girls watching guys jerk off’.
Visitors from New Mexico are +27% more likely to search for masturbation videos compared to the U.S. average. They are also more popular in Alaska by +22%, Kansas by +14%, Arizona by +13% and Nevada by +10%.
The states least likely to search for masturbation videos are Wyoming, Idaho, Maine, Kentucky, Nebraska and Vermont.
