Smoking is a popular fetish on Pornhub, and our statisticians took note that searches for a particular type of smoking porn increase every April 20th – which is also known as Weed Day. So for this 4/20 we’d like to puff-puff-pass along some interesting weed related stats.
On April 20, 2015 we found that marijuana related searches increased 263% above daily averages. Hey, whoever said stoners aren’t motivated? The most common search terms for those seeking some feel-good porn are “weed”, “marijuana”, “pot” and “joint” with “420” falling just behind in 5th place.
Some parts of the United States are much more open to this fetish. Folks in Vermont are 44% more likely to search for weed porn, as are New Hampshire at 25%, Colorado at 24% and Washington at 22%. Of our top 15 searching states, most have some form of decriminalization or rules allowing medical use with only Wisconsin remaining fully illegal.
Of the states that search the least for weed porn, we did find a larger proportion in which the penalties for possession are more, ah.. stiff. But don’t worry, our stats are completely anonymized, so your secret fetish is safe with us.
So who are these porn puffers? According to our statisticians, they’re 114% more likely to be men than women, and 18 to 24 year olds are 122% more likely to search than any other age group. Oh, and if you’re reading this on an Android device, you’re 19% more likely to enjoy weed porn than Apple iPhone and iPad users!
