The first person shooter Borderlands 3 launched on September 13th, 2019 as a sequel to 2012’s Borderlands 2. While Borderlands has remained popular with fans over the last several years, it’s never ranked highly among Pornhub’s top game searches like Overwatch, Fortnite and Apex Legends.
Our friends at PCGamesN contacted the Insights team to see if the new release increased the game’s popularity. Our statisticians soon found that over 1 million people have searched for Borderlands in the last 5 days, representing a 12,905% increase over it’s daily average. That’s nearly five times the popularity of Fortnite and three time that of Overwatching, making Borderlands the most searched for game and a top trending term on Pornhub.
The most popular Borderlands related search is “Borderlands 3” followed by “Borderlands Moxxi”. Other popular character related searches include Lilith, Tiny Tiny, Maya and Gaige.
Search demographics show that men are +84% more likely to search Borderlands than women, and visitors aged 18-24 are +119% more likely to search when compared to all other age groups.
Even though Borderlands 3 was released on multiple game consoles, our statisticians found that Xbox users were 78% more likely to search when compared to Xbox users. And among people visiting Pornhub from their mobile devices, Android users were 12% more likely to search Borderlands than those using Apple iOS based devices.
To better understand the tastes of these users, our statisticians looked at the other terms that they are most likely to search in the same session. Topping the list is “hentai” (NSFW) and the popular Pornhub verified model “Elin Flame”. Social media star “Belle Delphine” is also a popular search.
People who search for Borderlands are also into “bondage”, “cartoon” (NSFW), “anime”, “cosplay” and “furry” searches. During the same user session, they are also likely to search for other games like “fortnite”, “overwatch” and “minecraft”.
