Super Bowl Sunday 2024

The 58th Superbowl Sunday was this past weekend, Feb 11, 2024. The Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the San Francisco 49ers. In the end, the Chiefs won 25 to 22. Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs!

For 10 years now, we have been tracking Superbowl traffic changes and writing an Insights post about the cultural phenomena, so the New York Post checked in to see the results. An event of this scale has a strong effect on Pornhub’s traffic, and this year was no different!

First, our statisticians looked at the Top Gaining Search Terms on Superbowl Sunday. The first top 3 gaining search terms revolved around the Superbowl directly. In the lead was “super bowl” with an increase of +5595%, followed by “super bowl halftime” at +4090% and then “super bowl party” at +3558%.

Thereafter, the searches branched out. “big tits beauty” saw an increase of +3231%, “after party amateur” saw an increase of +2502%, and “big giant monster cock” saw an increase of +2315%. The big trend followed, with “super fat bbw” at +1114% shortly after.

Overall, searches related to football were up. “american football player” was up +1097%, “football player jerk off” was up +816%, and “sex in football stadium” was up +811%. The traffic to our site seemed to take their football fanaticism into their fantasies.

As you might expect, searches related to cheerleading were up as well. “cheerleader giving blowjob” was up +811%, “bbw cheerleader” was up +689%, and “football cheerleader” was up +316%.

Super Bowl Sunday Traffic

During the day, traffic to the site started to drop around 3 p.m. and saw a steady decline for Missouri and the United States overall, however California traffic started rising again at 8 p.m. before all three reached a low at 10 p.m.

Kansas City and the rest of Missouri stuck around to see their team take the victory, with traffic being –43% below normal for 10 p.m. on a Sunday. Compare that to only –27% in San Francisco.

After the game, folks from Kansas City celebrated their win with a big increase in Pornhub viewership by as much as +17% after midnight and continuing in the early morning. On the other hand, San Francisco accepted their loss and headed right to bed, with traffic after midnight being typical for a Sunday night.

Across the U.S., traffic was +15% higher than normal after the game and stayed well above Sunday’s average until 2 a.m.

How did traffic change in the opposing cities? By 10 p.m. Kansas City was down –41% and San Francisco was down –27%. It seems like the Chiefs had more hometown support than the 49ers!

Across America, traffic was down compared to an average day. Our statisticians pulled some data to find out which states were most interested, and which states didn’t seem too phased. Overall, traffic was down –21% during the game.

In the state of Idaho, traffic was down –42%, followed by Kansas at –38%. On the other hand, Delaware seemed pretty unphased, with a drop of only –5%.

Historical Super Bowl Traffic Changes

The last time the Chiefs played the 49ers was in 2012. Back then, we saw a drop of –20%, compared to –21% this time. To this day, the Superbowl of 2016, when the Denver Broncos played the Carolina Panthers, still saw the biggest drop in traffic, with an average of –28%.
