France is one hell of a country. When Pornhub found out that the French have been statistically proven to be the most frequently sexually active people on the planet, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on some exclusive porno stats pertaining to this gorgeous Western-European country, and we’re bringing you the best of our findings today as a part of a special collaboration with Lui Magazine. In fact, pornography as we know it owes quite a bit to the French, who are credited with the invention of both photography and cinema.
Considering that worldwide, France clocks in at an impressive 5th place for the number of daily visitors to the site, Pornhub’s lettre d’amour to this country is long overdue. Let’s begin!
Monday Funday
Nothing beats a case of the Mondays like some quality time spent on the largest adult site in the world, so it’s no surprise that the French are most active on Pornhub on the first day of each week. Everybody’s working for the weekend in France too, but they’re not spending it on Pornhub with Saturdays showing the slowest traffic rates on average.
Interestingly enough, November is the slowest month for Pornhub in France. The eleventh month of the year can be a pretty brutal one in other parts of the world with the beginnings of bad winter weather pushing many to clock more time with their keyboards and kleenex but the French are seemingly less dependent on porn during this time. The lovely month of May is when they prefer to get busy.
Stay a While
The average French worker has 30 days of paid vacation every year, so you’d think they’d have plenty of time to visit their favorite Porn site. But compared to the rest of the world they’re pretty average at 9 minutes and 8.5 pages viewed.
To put that into perspective, the United Kingdom goes for 9 minutes 42 seconds whereas the Germans and Belgians come up a bit short at only 8 minutes. Americans, who generally measure everything in football field terms, reach their end zone in 10 minutes.
The cost of living in Paris is extremely high, clocking in at number 2 worldwide. It clearly takes a certain balance and joie de vivre to survive in the city of lights, as the capital is where both the average number of page visits and amount of time spent on the site are highest, at 8.74 and 9:39 respectively. Work hard, fap harder.
Conversely, Nantes, which is located on the country’s northwestern coast, is where these numbers are the lowest at 8.24 average pages viewed per visit and approximately 8 minutes and 47 seconds spent on the site. Perhaps the extreme tidal forces that this city is known for are pulling the inhabitants away from their PCs. They seem to be able to find what they’re looking for in picturesque Poitiers, where they only visit an average of 8.39 pages a visit but spend a considerable 9 minutes and 12 seconds on average on the site.
The Résultats Are In
A glance at the top searched terms here, paints quite the patriotic picture. The French are apparently fans of their own, local flavors with the search term ‘french’ topping off the list with a significant tour de force. We’ve noticed the same trend around the world where people tend to search for their own nationality or ethnicity more than other terms. For example, Germans search for ‘German’ and Mexicans search for ‘Mexicana’.
Neighboring Switzerland have also taken a liking to France with ‘French’ closing out the top 3 most searched terms by the Swiss. Interestingly absent from the leading search terms in France is ‘smoking’, which is quite popular in neighboring Belgium and the act of which is a favorite French pastime.
France is also home to the Canal du Midi, the oldest canal in all of Europe. Incidentally, when you remove the ‘c’ from canal you get ‘anal’ which is another popular search term in this beautiful nation — but they still don’t come anywhere close to the world’s number one anal seekers the Russians. The French were also the first to decriminalize partners of the same sex getting it on all the way back in 1791 so it seems fitting that ‘lesbian’ remains within the top search terms across the board.
The Champagne-Ardenne region of France is where the only sparkling wine in the world that is legally allowed to be called Champagne comes from. Inhabitants of this mountainous region also appear to have a bit of an Arab fetish, with search term ‘beurette’ closing out the top 3 most searched terms in this area. The Pornhub statisticians thought that there was perhaps a strong sexual attraction to some sort of delicious butter-based pastry going on here but in fact, ‘beurette’ is a French slang word for an attractive North African Arab woman. Things get a little more sensual in the region of Limousin, not to be confused with the luxury sedan, where ‘massage’ makes its way into the top 4.
Who do the French Find Foxy?
The national pride is strong once again when we take a look at which of pornography’s finest the French are stroking their baguettes to. Homegirls Clara Morgane and Kitsuni pretty much dominate across the board but a bunch of of American babes made the cut here too. The French have been sending their babes to the US ever since 1886 when Mrs. Liberty and her buns of steel arrived.
