Eurovision Song Contest 2016
The Eurovision Song Contest is the longest-running annual international TV song competition. Beginning in 1956, the 2016 edition marked it’s 61st year. The finale took place on Saturday May 14 and lasted for 4 intense hours as the performers sang and viewers from across Europe televoted for their favorites. As often happens with hotly-anticipated televised events like the Game of Thrones premier, the Super Bowl, NBA Finals and NHL Playoffs, we saw major changes to Pornhub’s normal traffic levels before, during and after the Eurovision finale show.
Women’s Favorite Searches Worldwide
To close out International Women’s Month, we teamed up with our friends over at Bustle to bring you the latest data on the porn viewing interests of women. Over the last few years, Pornhub has taken a closer look at female visitors in our What Women Want and More of What Women Want posts. In both cases, much of our focus was comparing women to men to see how their porn viewing habits differ. For Women’s Day, we decided to leave men out of the picture, and looking at how women around the world differ from each other.
The United Kingdom Divided
The United Kingdom represents the second highest source of traffic coming to Pornhub after their American cousins. Our statisticians have studied the U.K. several times on Pornhub Insights, covering topics like their Top 10 Searches over time, Soccer Searches, and even how Winter Weather affects traffic. In the past we’ve released comprehensive stats about how the porn preferences of the United Kingdom differ from the world in general, but today we’re partnering with the folks at Gizmodo UK to see how cities across the U.K. vary in their Pornhub usage and demographics. United Kingdom vs Storm Gertrude
Last week Pornhub Insights looked at site traffic after Snowzilla (aka Storm Jonas) landed on the coast of the United States. We found major increases in traffic in East Coast cities going as high as 25% over average in Washington D.C. When storm Gertrude hit the United Kingdom just one week later, Metro UK asked if our U.K. friends had the same tendency to stay home and chill out with Pornhub rather than chilling outside.
